Pizza Hut For the Win as Papa John’s CEO Blames Kneeling NFL For Loss of Sales + Is Fav of Alt-Right
Pizza Hut is winning as Papa John’s CEO blames kneeling NFL for loss of sales.
It’s a battle of the pepperoni, as we watched Papa John’s have the worst week ever. Papa John’s has been the official pizza sponsor of the NFL league since 2010. Papa John’s CEO, John Schnatter spoke out recently, blaming the NFL owners for lack of leadership in handling the players who chose to kneel.
“This should have been nipped in the bud a year and a half ago,” John Schnatter said (via Chris Otts of WDRB.com). “Like many sponsors, we are in contact with the NFL and once the issue is resolved between the players and the owners, we are optimistic that the NFL’s best years are ahead. But good or bad, leadership starts at the top, and this is an example of poor leadership.”
According to the Washington Post, “Schnatter said that the practice of players kneeling during the anthem to raise awareness of police brutality and social injustice could have been stopped back when Colin Kaepernick began doing it during preseason games in the summer of 2016. Instead, players continued to do so in response to violence across the country and President Trump ramped up the conversation, calling for NFL owners to fire any “son of a bitch” who did not stand for the anthem.”
Papa John’s is not going to air any ads during games this season. Schnatter also is a Trump supporter, who donated $1,000 to Trump’s campaign.
Pizza Hut made a statement that their sales are just fine.”We’re not seeing any impact from any of that on our business,” the company said during an earnings conference call. Can we say savage.

As though this wasn’t enough, white supremacists may have just declared Papa John’s the “Official Pizza of the Alt-Right.”
Pause here for a long eye roll.
“This is great,” said Adrian Sol at The Daily Stormer. The website is known for complaining about too many black men being in the NFL and call it the “Negro Felon League.”
“This might be the first time ever in modern history that a major institution is going to be completely destroyed explicitly because of public outrage over their anti-White agenda,” Sol stated. He then asked, “Papa John: Official pizza of the alt-right?”
Welp! You guessed it. Consumers had something to say on twitter. Take a peek at the comments below.
Bottom line, he’s a Trump supporter. Donated to him. Anti-union. Refuses to pay a living wage
