St. Vincent’s Music Video For “Los Ageless” Is A Must Watch
St. Vincent really knows how to remind us that it isn’t always rainbows and butterflies in sunny LA.The music video came days ahead of her latest album, MASSEDUCTION, which released on October 13. “Los Ageless” really takes a jab at celebrity culture, and the lasting effects it has on its victims.
Vincent sings, “In Los Ageless, the waves they never break/ They build and build until you don’t have no escape/But how can I leave,” as she sits in a salon chair with a bunch of woman who look equally unamused. Later in the video, a green goo begins to overtake the songstress from the bubble gum pink seat as she continues on about the toxicity of the town.
The crisp and colorful aesthetic of the music video clashes in the most wonderful way with the slightly gruesome scenes depicted. From the consumption of some questionable critter on a tray, to the pulling of her skin that has gained some serious elasticity, the video portrays how this beautiful lifestyle has this disgusting and torturous dark side that could lead any great person to madness.
You can catch St. Vincent on her Fear the Future tour, which is making stops across Europe and the United States starting this Saturday.
