SZA Claims Kendrick Deserves Album of the Year
In a recent interview with Billboard, SZA says the Kendrick Lamar’s “DAMN” deserves to win a Grammy for Album of the Year at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards.
Many say that the artist should have won for his 2015 release of “To Pimp a Butterfly.” SZA goes on to say the honor is past due in a recent interview with Billboard, and she even went on to say that he is the most inspiring person she’s ever met in her life.
The album “D.A.M.N.” which released on April 14, 2017, debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 where it earned Lamar his third consecutive number one album in the United States. You have probably heard the entire album all the way through, but if not, you have probably heard his singles from the album including “Humble,” “DNA,” “Loyalty” and “Love.” The album has some big-time features as well including Rihanna, U2, and Zacari.
Lamar said he wrote most of the album in his mom’s kitchen, very “humble” of him. “DAMN” has already won Album of the Year at the BET Hip-Hop Awards, his song “Humble” won video of the year at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards and the album is now nominated for Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album at the 2017 American Music Awards. It really isn’t outrageous to think this album should get the prestigious honor of a Grammy, as SZA thinks it should.
