Police Investigate Acts of Racism at Middle School

The heartbreaking incident took place in the locker room of Short Pump Middle School, located in Glen Allen, Virginia.

The story first broke on a local NBC affiliate station.

The Snapchat video showed members of the middle school’s football team pinning African American students to the ground, as they made sexual gestures on top of them. The bystanders and perpetrators then yelled out racial slurs, along with the phrase, “We gonna f**k the black outta these African-American children from Uganda,” written across the Snapchat turned in as evidence.

The school district has obviously tried playing down the situation though, as its supervisor posed the question, “Was this some kind of racial situation?” This incident was more than “boys being boys” though as the county would like to make it out to be, as the mother of one of the victims said her son did not consent to such actions as he was held down.

The Henrico County Police Department is now looking into the video, but have not mentioned charges against the minors at this time.
