Emma Watson Replies Perfectly to Sadiq Khan

On September 30, Sadiq Khan, London Mayor, tweeted that a statue of a woman will finally be brought to Parliament SquareIt was decided upon by the council that a statue of Millicent Fawcett a feminist, suffragist and union leader would be added to the square in central London.

Emma Watson, a proud feminist herself, replied to Khan’s tweet saying, “About time too!:)”  The tweet now has almost 500 retweets and 9,000 likes.

You may know Watson from the “Harry Potter” series where she played Hermione or the newest adaption of “Beauty and the Beast” where she plays Princess Belle. What you might not know is that she is an educated activist as well. Watson studied at Brown University from 2011-2014, graduating with a masters in English Literature. She did this while also filming the last two Harry Potter movies and other indie films such as “The Perks of Being a Wallflower.”

In 2014, Watson was appointed as a United Nations Women Goodwill Ambassador and helped start HeForShe. HeForShe is a UN women’s campaign that calls for me to advocate alongside women for gender equality.

Emma Watson is only 27. She is hardworking, caring, strong and a great role model for all women and girls alike.
