Breakfast at Tiffany’s Turns 56

The classic film Breakfast at Tiffany’s, turned 56 years old on October 5th. The movie follows Miss Holly Golightly played by the very classy Audrey Hepburn as she becomes interested in a young man who has recently moved into her apartment building. The man is Paul Varjak, played by George Peppard.

Varjak is a writer who is struggling and Golightly wants nothing more than to a high-climbing socialite. She dresses in the latest fashion and lives for parties. However, Varjak quickly discovers how vulnerable this woman is. Her troubled past threatens to get in the way of the twos love affair.

Audrey Hepburn’s original script for the film recently sold for $847,000 this past September. The script was annotated by the star herself. This price was an all-time high for any script at an auction according to the London-based auction house. Hepburn was a British actress model, dancer and humanitarian who captured the world’s heart in the 1900’s. She brought a certain charisma to the screen and made the little black dress famous in Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
