New York Opens Its First Women-Only Boxing Center
Women will now have the opportunity to pursue their favorite sport without the intimidation of men.
It is no secret that boxing is considered a masculine sport, which leaves most training areas to be male-dominated. New York has finally opened a boxing center that will cater only to women. Reese Scott, the owner, after spending years training for boxing realized that there needs to be a space for women. Women can often find themselves to be intimated in sports that are not the most diverse and that usually leads to less pursuing the sport. Scott wants to make a difference.
The name of the gym will be “Women’s World of Boxing,” and it will reside in Harlem. Whether you are experienced or a newly found boxer, there will be training available to you. This will be a great place for beginners who are not the most comfortable in regular gyms and would like to improve their craft. Women will definitely love this gym and the trend it is trying to start for women boxers.
