Hillary Clinton Is Awarded The First Wonder Woman Award
She is a true pioneer for women.
The Women’s Media Center will honor Hillary Clinton its first-ever Wonder Woman award. She will be honored for her years of accomplishments and public service. On the Women’s Media Center site, they express the reason for rewarding Clinton this award. “…She has handled all this with grace, grit, determination, integrity, humor and fortitude while remaining a steadfast feminist, advocate, activist, sister and tireless leader in the revolution…” Gloria Steinem, the co-founder, stated.
Following Clinton, the other ladies that are being awarded are Jane Fonda, Maria Hinojosa, Ashley Judd, April Ryan, Maria Elena Salinas, and Gail Tifford. In addition, this event will honor the second co-founder Jane Fonda for her 80th birthday and celebrate the film “Hidden Figures.” The goal of this event and center is to celebrate women in an industry that has often left them out. It is wonderful to see women in media being praised for all of their hard work and this center is making that possible.
