Apple Is Releasing New Gender-Neutral Emojis

Apple is maintaining its inclusion of everyone.

At the end of October, Apple users who have iOS 11 will be able to select emojis that are gender neutral. As we continue to progress in the world, Apple believes they should try to make everyone feel included and that starts with emojis. A lot of people use emojis and often want one they can identify themselves with. It was not too long ago that Apple finally offered different skin tones for emojis and that was a big improvement. With the rate that this company is going, it is continuing to show that their values lie in the right place and are focused on creating the most comfortable space.

Apple is also launching a wide variety of newer emojis generating inclusiveness. Of the many new ones, there will be a breastfeeding emoji and a woman with a headscarf. This is a big step for Apple because they are combating the current stigma around public breastfeeding by creating an emoji. Women who wear headscarves have been left out for awhile so to finally have an emoji that resembles you is a big step.
