Enjoy Mediterranean Vibes at Fig & Olive

Glitter celebrates our co-founders birthday at this Newport Beach favorite.

Fig & Olive hosted my b-day last week in Newport Beach, California. They are fine dining at it’s best with their contemporary take on Mediterranean cuisine. They have locations in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, D.C and Newport Beach, located near our Glitter headquarters.

It’s nestled in the heart of Fashion Island with premiere shopping and steps away from the beautiful beaches of Orange County. It’s one of our favorite places to dine, whether it’s for a quick business meeting or celebrating a special event like my birthday. Fig & Olive recreates the ambiance of the French Riviera and its refined lifestyle. What better way to celebrate my birthday with some of our Glitter team.

We were seated in the beautiful Garden Room with natural sunlight gushing in, the scent of rosemary and garden views all around.

How cute and cozy is the fire pit in the Garden Room? We can’t wait for the sun to set to enjoy the ambiance.

They have tons of specialty cocktails all infused with fresh ingredients like rosemary, lavender and various bitters. They also have non-alcoholic versions of some of their drinks. Perfect for anyone under 21 or looking to watch their calories.

We started with an olive oil tasting plate with freshly baked focaccia bread. The oils are all amazing and with each having a distinct taste and aroma.

The marble tables are a sophisticated and elegant way to enjoy a meal.

The views from the Garden Room are super elegant and natural light bounces off of every detail. You really feel swept away into the Mediterranean vibe.

Dining five mins from the ocean, we decided to start the evening by sharing a jumbo shrimp cocktail. The seafood was super fresh and chilled to perfection.

We also enjoyed their Signature Crostinis. Flavors like avocado + shrimp, mushroom, truffle + parmesan and caramelized onions were the perfect punch in these two bite creations.

The risotto was truffle infused + super favorable and fragrant.

This raspberry gelato was the perfect palate cleanser.

Fig & Olive host a full selection of wines from around the world. When in California, it’s always great to try a Napa Valley Cab.

Our final course was the filet minion with mashed potatoes and asparagus.

I was surprised with a birthday dessert made just for me, courtesy of the chef. Merci Boucoup Fig & Olive!
