New MTV Show Transports Viewers Back to the 90’s

The new MTV show ’90s House’ will take you back to a simpler time where a young Mario Lopez, TRL and body glitter were all the rage.

The reality competition’s purpose is to bring contestants back to a greater, less tech-savvy era where they weekly compete in the 90s themed challenges. They will have a chance to win the ultimate prize of two VIP tickets to a 90s themed cruise, a Mazda Miata, and $90,000.

The show is hosted by 90s breakout artists Christina Milian and Lance Bass. Even though the hosts have experienced the 90s for themselves, the contestants have not. They were just small children in the 90s. Imagine not really knowing who the Spice Girls were, going through your scrunchie collection, or walking down the street in your Birkenstocks. What a shame.

Joining the competition gives them a taste of what the 90s was like through all it’s slow internet connections and slap bracelets. Even though they’re chilling in a rad house for the duration of the competition, everything including the tech, clothes, and food are all from the 90s. To fully embrace this culture, they have to give up all their modern technology. A few of them were annoyed but it’ll all be worth it in the end once they win.
