Miley Cyrus Does Rendition of “The Climb”

Miley Cyrus performed the song, “The Climb”, per request on her Instagram live video by fans.

In addition, she also performed “I Would Die For You,” for the first time in six years, and “Wrecking Ball” since it hit the charts four years ago and brought up special memories. The live stream, a first for Cyrus,  was a gift to her fans and to make it up to those who weren’t able to come to her album release party for her new album, Younger Now, in person.  As shown in the video below, the version Cyrus does isn’t exactly the same as the one we’re all used to but it sounds stunning. After hearing this, there were several mixed reactions from fans. One very enthusiastic fan wrote “Miley DID NOT MAKE A F*CKING LIVE [STREAM] AND SANG THE CLIMB WHILE I WAS DEADASS SLEEPING!” Thank goodness it wasn’t posted to Snapchat otherwise all hope would have been lost for this fan. But at least now she and other fans can re-watch this rare performance of it.

“The Climb” was written in 2009 for the movie “Hannah Montana: The Movie”.  It wasn’t intentionally written for the movie but came into mind while driving as the co-writer Jessi Alexander mentioned in an interview with Today’s 101.9.  Now, the song has become an anthem for change and has helped many people in their own lives. IF you want to check out this performance, check out the video below.
