HGTV Fans are Saying Goodbye to Chip + Joanna Gaines

Where are we supposed to get our weekly shiplap fix now?

Joanna Gaines posted to her blog today that season five would be the last season of her and her husband’s hit renovation show Fixer Upper.

“Our family is healthy and our marriage has honestly never been stronger. This has nothing to do with a fraudulent skincare line or anything else you’ll inevitably read. This is just us recognizing that we need to catch our breath for a moment,” the designer wrote.

Emerging on the HGTV scene back in 2013, the Gaines family have introduced us to numerous families, couples, and individuals looking to take on a fixer upper with modest budgets.

The show, which takes place in Waco, Texas, has turned the Gaines’ hometown into a tourist hotspot. Joanna has opened up a retail store, Magnolia Market, and a bakery inside the silos that fans watched Chip buy for Joanna in an earlier season of their show.

“We aren’t done working towards restoration in all things or helping out those who could use a hand. In fact, in all of these things, we are just getting started,” the star wrote, reassuring her readers.

While we are sad to see this chapter close, we wish the couple and their four children the best!

You can catch the final season of Fixer Upper this November on HGTV.
