Jevon released a new single called ‘NAME’

Houston-born rapper Jevon Doe released a new single called ‘NAME’ and you need to hear it. Doe sings with strength and soul, raps with acrobatic weightlessness, writes bangers with depth and rawness easily creating a pop sensibility.  Growing up poor, Doe witnessed too much, too soon. His father was addicted to crack, heroin, and liquor—struggles that led him to torment his family. Doe withstood the trauma and turned it into stardom on the gridiron. Blessed with 4.3 40-yard-dash speed, he earned a football scholarship to Northwestern State University in Louisiana. When injury prematurely curtailed his career, Doe harnessed his emotions into music.

With his new release ‘Name,’ he draws inspiration from the 2000’s classic ‘Just Friends (Sunny)’ by Music Soulchild. He sings about not knowing a girl’s name but wanting to get to know her on a personal level. Music Soulchild’s vocals appear frequently throughout the song.
