Topshop Announces Modern Utility As Main Theme This Season
What exactly is “modern utility?”
Topshop always seems to have the latest in fashion trends and is no different this fall season as they announce their stemming uniform.
Modern utility is the practice most minimalists desire as each clothing item uses practicality and layering techniques of apparel you already have and can build from. Most utility items tend to be lighter and washed out in tone and when paired with like items give the appearance of a comfortable professional about to venture into a variety of recreational outlets.
Fall trends ascending into popularity like sock boots, wristlet totes, and pastel blazers seem to all have this utilitarian consistency that pair both fashion and function into one. With a society whose attention span is shortening, convenience levels with technology are heightening, and binge-watching shows are a weekend well spent; having a closet full of mix and match clothes with practicality in mind seems to be the direction society is heading.
Though Topshop stores in New Zealand seem to be closing due to a lack of buyers, the U.S stores are thriving with innovations every day.

My name is Kelsey Comeaux, I’m currently a Senior at McNeese State University, majoring in Mass Communications with a concentration in New Media. Other than that, I love sports and am naturally a competitive spirit. I love to go running for fun, as weird as that sounds; it’s such a great release for me during stressful times. I also enjoy writing, short fiction is my expertise, as well as reading various novels mostly consisting of Science Fiction and Romance. Anything dealing with an adrenaline rush involving the outdoors I’m game for. I’m here to explore, love wildly, feel passionately, and have diligence deriving from the soul.
