LORDE Covered A Phil Collins Classic In The BBC Live Lounge

LORDE’s latest cover proves she can do no wrong.

The songstress stopped by BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge for the station’s month-long 50th-anniversary celebration, where she sang her hit single “Green Light,” and covered Phil Collins’ “In The Air Tonight.”

BBC Radio 1 posted a snippet of the cover on their twitter, which she performed in Manchester the night before for a sold-out crowd.

Phil Collins is a great artist and for Lorde to cover this iconic song by the eclectic artist proves that she is a rockstar. She did NOT disappoint with the cover from the snippet that was revealed! Her velvet like vocals glided through the classic effortlessly, as if she was always meant to cover the song all along.

While the entire song has not been released on Radio 1’s official site yet, this is a cover you for which you may want to be on the lookout. Lorde is currently on the European leg of her Melodrama World Tour, which she is bringing stateside March 1st of next year starting in Wisconsin. What are your thoughts? Did Lorde do Phil and justice with this cover of this song?
