Jhene Aiko Surprises Her Fans With A New Album And A Short Film
Jhene Aiko just released her sophomore album titled “Trip” and the journey behind it is amazing.
Jhene Aiko surprised her fans by releasing a new album earlier this week. This is Jhene’s second solo project since her debut album “Souled Out” released. The album has 22 tracks with features from Big Sean, Swae Lee, Freestyle, Kurupt, Dr. Chill, Brandy, and her gorgeous daughter Namiko.
This album is accompanied by a short film, starring Jhene Aiko. It shows her recovering from her brothers passing and embarking a journey with her new love interest. Jhene Aiko has stated in her mission statement that this project is a “map” navigating her to identify the reason for her pain and mistakes. The “m” stands for the movie, which is her autobiography film reflecting her journey. The “a” stands for her album Trip where we are able to feel her journey. Lastly, the “p” stands for the poetry book where she is able to release all of her thoughts.
This is a major breakthrough for Jhene because she is finally discussing the passing of her late brother, the effect it has had on her love life, and the healing process she has embarked while creating this project. This album is perfect for winding down and relaxing whether it is to gather your thoughts or just to appreciate the smooth sounds of Jhene’s voice.
