John Paul Ataker’s Killer NYFW Show
John Paul Ataker impressed with his use of knots and rope at NYFW.
Paula Abdul and Victoria Justice were just two of the celebrities that attended the John Paul Ataker show. Inspired by the folklore and traditions of northern Turkey, the collection was mostly neutral colors.
The pieces consisted primarily of unbleached fabrics that were either white, black, or gold. The collection had a variety of styles and shapes. It ranged from fluttery accordion ruffled dresses to powerful tailored black jumpsuits.
Ataker even designed an exclusive line of boots and flats that mirrored what Turkish fisherman wear. He manipulated nautical knots to become integral parts of almost every outfit. He certainly impressed.
