Just In Case You Missed It

Just In Case made a bold statement with their avant-garde streetwear collection. You have to see it to truly appreciate the beauty of the clothes.

Taiwanese designer Justin Chou knows how to make a statement. The atmosphere of his runway show perfectly matched the avant-garde streetwear style. YZ, a rising star in the hip hop industry, opened the show with a bang. Shortly after YZ began to rap, a dancer/contortionist moved along with the beat. His body was painted to match the curves of the collection.

To create this collection, Just In Case utilized the art of Sanyu, a Chinese-French artist, to inspire and directly influence the collection. Collaborating exclusively with the National Museum of History in Taiwan, Just In Case was able to get permission to use every piece of his art collection. This resulted in beautiful prints on silken blouses, which were beautiful.

Sanyu combined Chinese calligraphic lines with Modernist French figurative painting to create moving nude pieces. This comes across perfectly in Chou’s collection. Dark black lines traced the model’s bodies, mirroring Sanyu’s paintings. It also matched in color, using a palette of creams, pinks, purples, and blues.

Justin Chou was even looking forward when selecting his models. He chose men and women from a variety of races and ethnicities. He even chose to present a seasoned model, who rocked the runway. Look below for more details!
