Concept Korea NYFW Show Recap

Younhee Park, Maye Musk, and Lee Chung Chung

Designers Lee Chung Chung and Younhee Park worked together to produce Concept Korea, a collaborative project that focused on forward-thinking Korean design.

Lee Chung Chung’s LIE collection walked the runway first. It was inspired by everyday women who embrace their “imperfections.” Full of bold colors in classic designs, the collection’s focus was to make everyday fashion innovative. Maye Musk, the mother of Elon Musk, opened and closed the show. She first walked out in a long white jacket and a t-shirt that was emblazoned with “I’mperfect.”

Younhee Park’s collection and brand GREEDILOUS focused on bringing a futuristic spin to modern design. She was inspired by the fantasy jungle in the movie “Avatar.” The collection consisted of bright, colorful prints and bold graphics. Many of the prints Park created consisted of paintings by Brazilian artist Bruno Novelli’s work. Bold and intriguing her design is creative, but wearable. Her work is often described by what Park calls “futuristic modernity.”
