The Vaishali S Runway Show at NYFW

Mumbai-based designer Vaishali presented a beautiful collection at NYFW

The collection by Vaishali S was based on the principle of “yathavat”- an unchanged. Her collection was an attempt to “consciously observe” the change in her design over the course of her career.

The clothing was beautiful, crafted of exquisite fabrics and weaving from India. The beauty of the fabrics and weaving was enhanced by the mix of draping and construction. The tones were muted as to not outshine the art behind the intricate weaving of the fabric.

However, the best part was who wore the clothes. The Vaishali runway was super diverse. Their makeup was also beautiful. It was bright, metallic gold highlight over their cheekbones perfectly complementing the simplicity of the clothes.
