Runa Ray x NYFW
Runa Ray may be new to fashion week, but her collection definitely impressed.
Originally from Southern India, Runa Ray was inspired by the organic materials that surround her.
Runa Ray was born of Indian heritage and did her schooling in Bangalore, a city in the south of India. She pursued her studies in Fashion at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (India) where the Runa Ray final collection was awarded “Best Design” award. From there, she moved to Paris to pursue her masters in Garment Engineering under the Paris Chamber of Commerce at the Ecole Superieure des Industries du Vetements. Having showcased at Singapore for a couple of years, this is her debut at the New York Fashion Week.
Using special pigments and dyes, Ray pressed flowers and leaves onto the clothes she created, making almost a fossil-like impression on the clothing.
