The Rock Hangs Out With 10-Year-Old Lifesaver

The Rock hung out with a ten-year-old boy who saved his little brother.

A ten-year-old boy, Jacob O’Connor, saved his little two-year-old brother’s life after finding him face down in a pool. The boy immediately pulled his brother, Dylan, from the pool and started giving him chest compression and CPR.

Jacob learned how to give CPR from his favorite movie, The Rock’s “San Andreas.” He saved his brother’s life. On August 25th, The Rock posted a picture of the news story and said “I’m so amazed and impressed by this little 10yr old boy’s heroic actions and calm instincts in the middle of that kind of emergency distress. I now need to shake young Jacob’s hand…”

On September 4th he finally got to meet Jacob.

Jacob was super nervous and shy the whole time we hung out, so it was fun getting him to laugh and talk. He threw me for an unexpected spin when he showed up on set wearing a shirt that he proudly made with my bull insignia on the front and on the back was the picture of me holding our two puppies, Brutus and Hobbs, after I rescued them from our pool. Seeing that picture on this boy’s shirt, got me in the gut. Eventually, we would lose Brutus to heaven, but it wasn’t the picture of Brutus that made me tear up, it was the fact that this 10yr old kid, had a heart big enough to put our puppies on his shirt after he saved his little 2yr old brother’s life. What a special day. What a special kid. Thanks Jacob for being awesome and for being the kind of person we all aspire to be. ~ DJ

Here, The Rock posted this photo of him about to hug Jacob and said “I said, not only do I shake hands but when I meet heroic kids, I give hugs. Now get in here.”. Jacob was giving V.I.P treatment when The Rock brought him and his family out to the set of his newest movie, “Skyscraper.”

Here, he can be seen eating all the candy he wants on set. The Rock says that “I told Jacob and his brother Gavin that when kids visit my movie sets, it’s like Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory because children get to eat all the chocolate and sweets they want and the best part is…IT’S ALL FREE”. The Rock was so happy to be able to meet one amazingly heroic kid (who just happened to be one of his biggest fans).
