Starbucks Apron Colors Have A Meaning

It doesn’t take long to come up with a reason to love Starbucks.

The company spans more than 23,000 locations in 70 countries across the globe, so it’s pretty obvious that the world agrees.

Like many companies, there are hidden secrets that keep the coffee shop running smoothly day-to-day.

One that you may have never noticed before is the different aprons the baristas wear. Some are green, others black, and occasionally you’ll see a red or orange one. Well, each of those colors has a meaning behind it.

According to Starbucks website, the green apron is the basic apron. So anyone that works at a Starbucks is allowed to wear the companies signature color. But if you’ve either served in the military or graduated from the Starbucks College Achievement Plan, you receive an apron with a special patch on it.

The black aprons, those are reserved for Coffee Masters also known as, those who are certified in expert coffee knowledge.

“We have really embraced diversity while staying true to who we are,” a spokesperson for Starbucks shared in a press release. “You can see that every day.”
