Sometimes you are all the #Woman you need

Kesha released her second single in four years, and it is everything a woman needs and more! The song is called “Woman” and was released on July 13th, 2017, following “Praying” which was released seven days earlier.

“Woman” features The Dap-King horns, and is a compelling, feminist song that you need for the summer. She sings about being able to buy her own drinks, pay her own bills and how her love is not for sale. The song is powerful because she is putting it all out there with regards to her femininity. She is sharing that she and all women can do what they please, as they please.

She wrote an essay for Rolling Stone where she spoke of the significance of the song and its lyrics. In the piece, she writes “I have always been a feminist, but for much of my life I felt like a little girl trying to figure things out. In the past few years, I have felt like a woman more than ever. I just feel the strength and awesomeness and power of being female. We hold the key to humanity. We decide if we populate the Earth, and if so, with whom. We could just decide not to have any more kids, and the human race would be over. That is power. I just really fucking love being a woman and I wanted an anthem for anyone else who wants to yell about being self-sufficient and strong. (Yes, men, this song can be for you too.)” She confirms her words through the lyrics of the song.

The song is about female empowerment, and she said that she see how men can be supportive of women based on the support she received while writing the song with two men. She wishes for the song to be an anthem for females to show them that they are enough and have a lot of power and strength.
