Amanda Seyfried Is Empowered By Breast Feeding
Amanda Seyfried has always been pretty vocal when it comes to fighting for women’s rights, so it came as no surprise when she shared her thoughts on breastfeeding.
She tweeted a series of messages on why it’s really not okay to shame mothers for whichever way they feed their kids:
“Breastfeeding is awesome. Formula is awesome. Feeding your baby is awesome. Not awesome? Judgement.”
She then went on to quote Maureen Shaw about the purpose of breasts, and how they have been sexualized in modern day pop culture:
“Breasts are intended to feed babies. With all our progress on feminist issues, how can such a simple biological imperative remain so stigmatized? In a word: sex. We live in a culture comfortable with exploiting breasts to sell burgers, for goodness sake.”
Her fans were here for it, and supported her wise words.
