Lemonade Is Not A Comparison to 4:44

Jay-Z has finally released 4:44 this past holiday weekend.

And while it’ll earn it’s fair share of Grammy buzz and critical acclaim, the arrival of his album doesn’t seem to make everyone happy. Many fans have noted that while he apologized for what he had done to Beyoncé in the past, those very confirmations are what undercut the success of Lemonade.

People have taken to Twitter to comment on his cheating confessions, and how it took his own confessions for people to actually believe that Beyoncé was, in fact, right. According to Refinery29, it’s as if “ the emotions that she laid forth on her album weren’t enough for us to believe that he could ever have been a trash husband.” It seems that all the blood, sweat and tears the famed singer went through to create something as beautiful and vulnerable as Lemonade has been completely overshadowed. Maybe, she deserves better than a man’s confirmation.
