Brace yourselves for this one! Whose theory was right? *Spoil Alert*

So, it turns out Mona killed Charlotte, but in her defense, it was self-defense. The second to last episode of the series revealed some secrets as to what has been happening in Rosewood.

Charlotte or “A” was killed during the season six winter premiere of Pretty Little Liars, and since then the girl quintet has been trying to figure out her killer’s identity. It was revealed in season seven’s nineteenth episode that Mona was the culprit all along. Mona confronted Charlotte in the church after Charlotte’s release from Radley Sanitarium. She was determined to prevent Charlotte from messing up her friends’ lives for the second time. The two girls even have a fist fight, which results in Mona pushing Charlotte against a metal spike, poking her in the neck and killing her on the spot.

Hanna found Mona in the church and tried talking to her when Mona revealed her truth. She also mistook Hanna for Charlotte and tried to shove her through a window but was stopped by Caleb. Mona is now suffering from a mental breakdown and has retreated to her previous shy self of ponytails, sweater shirts, and glasses.
