Lena Dunham’s Body Positive Nude Selfie

The Girls creator takes tackling body image to the next level!

Although fans are used to Lena Dunham’s powerful representation of body confidence throughout the numerous seasons of her TV show Girls, her nude Instagram post inspires us even more to join her in her body positivity.

Last Thursday, Lena posted a nude selfie with two pear emojis and a honey pot emoji covering her private parts. The Instagram displays her collection of tattoos.

Her empowering caption read: “I spent so many years loving my body but thinking it wasn’t lovable by others-its sole purpose was to be fodder of jokes. I performed the insult so no one else could. I don’t regret any of it-that’s my art and that was my truth-but now, at age 31, having been through hell and back with my health and other people’s perceptions of my physicality, I feel deeply comfortable with the idea that this pear shaped pot of honey is equally good for making people laugh and laying out like a Suicide Girl circa 2004. Love it all.”

The Instagram demonstrates her evolving relationship with her body and shows off her strength in dealing with body struggles. The Instagram symbolizes that she is comfortable in her own skin and reminds us that we all should love our bodies!

Lena continues to face her health battle with endometriosis, which unfortunately made her cancel her Lenny Letter tour last month. She wanted to be able to give it her complete self and felt unable due to her health scare.
