As if you needed more proof that Cara Delevingne is an inspiration to little girls everywhere!

The supermodel shaved her head last month for her upcoming role in Life in a Year. She strutted around the Met Gala with her bald head covered in bright silver paint and sparkling sequins.

Society has a disappointingly narrow view of beauty. Cara explained on Instagram that “The more we embrace who we are as people and rely less on our physical attributes, the more empowered we become. Beauty shouldn’t be so easily defined. It is limitless.”

She encouraged her followers to “strip away the clothes, wipe off the make up, cut off the hair. Remove all material possessions” and ask “Who are we? How are we defining beauty? What do we see as beautiful?”

Cara’s words deeply impacted 8-year-old Brooklyn, who is currently battling her second Wilm’s tumor. The chemotherapy caused her hair fell out, but Brooklyn painted her bald head to look like Cara’s Met Gala do. Brooklyn later posted an Instagram photo with the caption “if you can’t have hair, have glitter and diamonds!” Cara resposnded by announcing Brooklyn as her hero.
