Grab the tissues!

Season one of NBC’s This Is Us was a smash hit dramedy that entered America’s homes last fall. The second season of the hit show will be coming back later this year, and here’s everything you need to know before it starts.

  1. The first episode is going to be mind-blowing. Showrunner, Dan Fogelman said at the Emmys’ For Your Consideration panel in L.A. that the “first episode of the season holds not all the answers but a huge piece of the puzzle” surrounding the mystery of Jack (Milo Ventimiglia)’s death.
  2. Not everything about Jack’s death is revealed in the first episode. Fogelman answered questions about Jack’s death, saying the truth will be revealed “over the course of the season.” He also shared that he was surprised about all the press surrounding Jack’s death. Fogelman said he “never in a million years expected that this chaos about Jack’s death would still be going on at this point.”
  3. Kate (Chrissy Metz) and on-screen fiance Toby (Chris Sullivan) might get married. But don’t count on it. Metz shared on the panel, “I sort of don’t want to rush in  I think that Toby and Kate have a long way to go to really get to know each other, and to know themselves. They don’t just want to step into a marriage.” Sullivan added, there “like four or five seasons to go, at least.”
  4. Season 3 is already in the works. The third season was renewed at the same time as the second season, so you might not even know how Jack dies until 2018.
  5. Season 2 doesn’t have a premiere date yet. With constantly changing dates and times for when the show will finally air, we don’t even know when the show is going to start airing.

Well, all we know is you need This Is Us, and you need it now!
