Many new things have happened in Selena Gomez’s world: a new hit single titled “Bad Liar” from her upcoming album,  a hot new relationship with beau The Weeknd, and a chic new bob. And just like the events happening in her life, she’s switching things up in her music, too. So if you’re expecting something similar to “Bad Liar” for her next single, think again, because it’s going to sound nothing like the hit you all know and love.

Gomez sat down on Elvis Duran and the Morning Show and said:

 “I’ve always wanted to try and have my music be an evolution. Every time I do somethin, I always feel like I’m just starting — it’s not me doing a continuation of something. I think ‘Bad Liar’ is completely separate from the things I did with Revival and then very different from what I did with Kygo, not going into this, the second single, is even more surprising than ‘Bad Liar.’ It’s so fun though because it’s in that place — it’s really exciting.”

You’ve seen sultry pop, emotional ballads, country/house vibe and spoken-word in her past albums and singles, so the sound for her next single could literally be anything.

But whatever it’s going to be you’re probably still going to be in love and obssessed with it after hearing it for the first time.
