Miley sang because love conquers hate!

During her breathtaking performance of “Inspired”, Miley began with a beautiful speech: “I’m so honored to be at this incredible event, surrounded by all you amazing people and for me, the most important responsibility we have on this entire planet is to take care of one another.” She dedicated her new song to everyone in the crowd and people around the world.

The singer also sang a duet with Pharrell Williams of his song “happy” to show her love for Manchester as well as a duet with Ariana Grande.

On stage, she also discussed her and Ariana Grande’s work with the Happy Hippie Foundation. Miley founded Happy Hippie because she wanted “to encourage other people to fight for what is right.” Ariana Grande was the first artist to say yes to be a part of the movement.

She also said a few words dedicated to Ariana’s strength during this difficult time. Miley explains that “she [Ariana Grande] says that she’s a good role model for so many of you girls out there. I think she’s proved that by putting this together and allowing us to be a part of it.” If you got the opportunity to watch the concert, it was clear to see that the unity and love there that day was empowering.

The money raised from the concert went towards the Red Cross’ We Love Manchester emergency fund to help fans injured at Ariana Grande’s May 22 concert. Miley sang her heart out in support and to emphasize love conquers hate!
