Life’s too short not to speak up about what’s important to you.

More times than not women are told to keep their opinions to themselves, and that what they think about certain topics isn’t “important.” However, on the July cover of “Cosmopolitan,” Scarlett Johansson is telling you to do the exact opposite.

The actress has always been very vocal about her opinions, whether that be about politics or womanhood. Johansson tells the magazine, “There’s no reason we shouldn’t be talking about our reproductive rights. They’re something we have to fight for and continue to protect.” While speaking up about a biased crowd can be daunting, the star states, “Whenever you speak publicly, it’s always a risk, right? Maybe you’ll lose some followers. but if you have something to say, it can be really impactful.”

So go out there, speak up for what you believe in, and do it headstrong. Because only you can make the change you want to see in the world and in others.

Catch more of Johansson’s interview with “Cosmopolitan” July 6 when the magazine hits newsstands. And you can catch her in movie Rough Night, when it hits theaters June 16.
