Disney World’s New “Avatar” Themed Section

Your dreams are getting bigger!

Disney World has expanded their Florida theme park once again. This time adding a section dedicated to the hit movie, “Avatar.”

Pandora: World of Avatar, which opened May 27 at Animal Kingdom in Orlando, will feature new rides, restaurants, and over-the-top decor that will transport every guest to an entire new world. On opening weekend, according to the Wall Street Journal, the 12-acre park took $500 million to build was filled with lines throughout.

Here’s some things that make this theme park different from every other park in Disney.

You won’t find any Mickey Mouse figures. Yes, you read that right. You might even forget that you’re in Disney while in Pandora.

You don’t need to have seen the movie to enjoy the park. Even though it was the highest-grossing movie back in 2009, the workers at each of the rides will give you information about planet Pandora. So no need to study up about the movie before you come.

You can make your own avatar. After riding the Flight of Passage ride you’ll enter the gift shop where you have the option to buy a customized avatar. A worker will scan your face and then 3D print a model for you. The item cost a hefty $74.99, so you might want to save up your money to buy one.

If this sounds like a park you want to visit, check out My Disney Experience and book your spot today!
