No More Double Scoops At Ben & Jerry’s

Only single scoops from now on from your favorite ice cream company.

“The more the merrier,” is a quote that is used often when it comes to inviting people, and of course when you order ice cream. One can never eat too much ice cream, right?

Well Ben and Jerry’s is stopping you from enjoying too much of your favorite dessert…but it’s for a good reason.

The ice cream chain is taking a stand for marriage equality. The company’s Australian branch is saying, “Imagine heading down to your local Scoop Shop to order your favorite two scoops of Cookie Dough in a waffle cone, but you find out you are not allowed – Ben & Jerry’s has banned two scoops of the same flavor. You’d be furious! But this doesn’t even begin to compare to how furious you would be if you were told you were not allowed to marry the person you love.”

To gain support for equal rights, Ben & Jerry’s is asking its fans to join them by signing up on the Equality Campaign’s website, which is leading up to the next preliminary on June 13.

This stand for equality doesn’t come as a surprise to many fans of the company as they have been very active in politics, as the founder supported Bernie Sanders in the presidential campaign, as well as created an ice cream flavor that brought awareness to global warming.
