“Stay” and Watch Zedd and Alessia Cara’s New Music Video
This series of “what ifs” will make you want to live your life to the fullest.
The music video for “Stay” by Zedd and Alessia Cara came out recently, even though the single has been out since the end of February. It’s already racked up over 1.5 million plays on Spotify alone.
The video goes through a series of what if’s in Alessia and Zedd’s character’s relationship. It reminds us to maximize every moment of our lives and how a split second could alter the entire course of our lives.
Throughout the video, we see the parallels between the lives of Zedd and Alessia’s characters whose paths cross because they live in the same apartment building. But the two keep missing one another, as seen several times in the video, until they finally manage to get an elevator together.
After their shared elevator, a montage of the two going out for coffee and roadtrips ensues. It’s honestly a summertime fling dream. Until the the moment hits.
Zedd’s character is then hit by a car as the two are are dancing in the streets after leaving the beach. Alessia’s character is in distress, and the rest of the video rewinds the moments leading to the crash.
Despite the video ending in tragedy, the song is still quite catchy and definitely mirrors the message of cherishing every moment with ones we love.
