Big News for The Bachelorette

The buzz about next season’s bachelorette, Rachel Lindsay, is high and for good reason. 

Her lawyer occupation and Texas roots are not the only unique things about her. Until now, no woman of color has ever been in the show’s spotlight, but it is time to break that stigma. Though there have been contestants from a variety of races and ethnicities, the show has failed to highlight a black woman as its main role. In an interview with Good Morning America, Rachel explains that she does not see herself as different because she is the first African-American bachelorette and that she is ready to approach the role like any other contestant.
