Guide To: Concealers

bb_prod_e6xw_415x415_0Concealers are a vital part of your makeup routine so we took the time to line up some concealers that will upgrade your makeup look.

There are so many different types of concealers: you use certain kind for your under eyes, others for your pimples or redness, and another to brighten and highlight! Because it can be stressful trying to find the right concealer you need, we decided to line up some of the best at varying prices.

Under Eye Concealers

Under eye concealers are really important to use when you didn’t have enough sleep the night before or if you just simply have darker under eyes. Apply the concealer after your foundation to make your under eyes pop.

Affordable:

An amazing under eye concealer that is very affordable is the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Treatment Concealer. This concealer is amazing because it glides onto the skin from a sponge and barely requires any blending. This concealer makes the skin look moisturized and natural while only costing $9 at Target and Ulta.

High End:

The Bobbi Brown Corrector is amazing at covering dark circles. It has really good coverage while not feeling heavy or dry under the eyes. This concealer comes in so many different colors and while going for your actual skin color is smart, opt for a shade lighter if you have a problem with dark circles. You can find this concealer at Sephora and online.

High Coverage Concealers

High coverage concealers are important if you have any problem areas like blemishes, hyperpigmentation, or redness. These concealers will cover everything easily and will tend to be thicker.

Affordable:

A full coverage concealer from the drugstore is the Revlon ColorStay Concealer. This concealer offers fuller coverage but does not feel cakey or heavy on the skin, although it is thicker then other foundations.  You can find this concealer at Target or Ulta from $7 to $11.

High End:

A pricier concealer that is full coverage is the Laura Mericer Secret Camouflage concealer which actually comes with two colors, one for you skin color and the other to better match your undertone, allowing you to have the perfect color. This concealer is worth the $35 price tag because it is essentially two concealers in one slim compact.

Brightening/ Highlight Concealer

A concealer that most people tend to use is a brightener or highlighter that is typically used under the eyes and on the high points of the face. These concealers do add coverage which is why they are still considered concealers instead of highlighters.

Affordable:

Affordable brightening concealers are available at different stores, like the L’Oreal Paris Magic Lumi Highlighter Concealer which is available at Target, Ulta, and online from $9 to $13. This concealer is used under the eyes and on the high points of the face, and is very blendable and natural.

A higher end version of this would be the Smashbox Photo Op Under Eye Brightener. This concealer is used not only under the eye but also on the high points of the face to brighten and give a slightly shimmery (but very natural) highlight. You can find this concealer at Sephora, Ulta, and online for $20.
