Interview with Zoey Burger
Glitter recently sat down with Zoey Burger, who plays Gigi on Nickelodeon’s Every Witch Way to talk about the final season of Every Witch Way, when she started acting, her favorite hobbies, something her fans might not know about her, and her favorite way to stay active in the heat. Read on to find out more about this talented actress!
GLITTER: Can you tell us when you first started acting?
ZOEY: I first started acting when I was 7; I played ‘wild rabbit #1’ in a local production of the Velveteen Rabbit & I have LOVED acting ever since.
GLITTER: Who do you play on Nickelodeon’s Every Witch Way?
ZOEY: I play Gigi Rueda, AKA “Miss Information” on Every Witch Way. Gigi’s the school gossip and she’ll do anything to get her scoop. While she calls her self “Miss Information,” she’s the most “Miss Informed” character on the show.
GLITTER: Who would you love to guest star on a future episode?
ZOEY: We just finished filming the final season so sadly I don’t think we’ll have any great guest stars – but I would LOVE to do an Every Witch Way musical movie staring Ed Sheeran (I have a whole script written. If anybody’s interested, you know where to find me!)
GLITTER: Who has been your favorite co-star to date?
ZOEY: It’s so hard to pick just one co-star because the whole cast is such a big (slightly dysfunctional) family. If you were to make me pick one… I would say Tyler Alvarez, who plays my brother on the show.
GLITTER: Do you have any favorite hobbies?
ZOEY: My family and I love the beach and one of our favorite hobbies is to go sea-glass hunting! We are a little crazy about it and even have custom-made display cases for our favorite pieces.
GLITTER: What is something fans may not know about you?
ZOEY: Fans may know that I’m a musical theatre girl and I’m constantly bursting out into show-tunes. But they don’t know that I spent a lot of my free time on a set build crew using crazy tools like miter saws!
GLITTER: Do you have any charities that are near and dear to your heart?
ZOEY: My brother was born at 25 weeks so my family supports the March of Dimes. It is a true miracle to see a baby born at less than 2 pounds, grow into a healthy, adorable kid.
GLITTER: What is your definition of self-love?
ZOEY: My definition of self-love is doing things that make me feel challenged, happy and proud. And always eat dessert.
GLITTER: What is your favorite way to stay active in the heat?
ZOEY: My favorite way to stay active in the summer heat is to spend time at the beach! From long walks to diving into waves, the beach is never a bad idea.
GLITTER: Do you have any new projects coming up that you can tell us about?
ZOEY: I just wrapped up Every Witch Way season four — I have my fingers crossed for new things coming soon!
GLITTER: What would be your dream role in the future?
ZOEY: An Abundance of Katherines by John Green has been my favorite book for years. To play Lindsey Lee Wells is a huge dream of mine and would be such an honor.
