Interview with Clark Manson
We’re loving country heartthrob Clark Manson’s video for “Track 9.” Clark’s independent EP I’m On It soared to the Top 10 on iTunes’ country charts for two weeks consecutively and his debut album Runnin With the Night reached #5 on Billboard’s Top 5 Heatseeker Chart. If you’re a country fan, you might have seen him open for Dierks Bentley, Lee Brice, Cole Swindell, Scotty McCreey, Dustin Lynch and Chase Rice, just to name a few! Clark recently sat down with Glitter to talk about his sound, his new track, “Track 9,” who he’d love to collaborate with, what it’s like to open up for some of Country’s greatest artists, what he’s up to next, and how to follow him! Read on to find out more about this talented country heartthrob.
GLITTER: How would you describe your sound?
CLARK: Stadium Country .
GLITTER: Do any of you play any instruments?
CLARK: Guitar.
GLITTER: Where do you find your inspiration?
CLARK: Pretty much everywhere. I love the lake and that seems to reflect on my writing as well as picking songs to cut.
GLITTER: When did you first enter the music scene?
CLARK: When I was sixteen, I started playing graduation party’s for my friends. That eventually turned into nightly bar gigs.
GLITTER: What is it like to open for some of Country’s greatest music artists?
CLARK: It’s very inspiring and pushes me to be the best I possibly can.
GLITTER: Do you have any rituals before you go out on stage?
CLARK: Absolutely! The band and myself gather on the bus and crank up some jams, and drink a few ice cold brews!
GLITTER: What can you tell us about your song, “Track 9?” Did anyone or event inspire you to write that song?
CLARK: I actually didn’t write the song. Chris Bandi and Jason Massey are the writers and the lyric really hit home for me so I cut it.
GLITTER: Is there something about you fans would be surprised to know?
CLARK: I’m a huge Ohio State Buckeyes fan, and I have a donkey named Jack.
GLITTER: Best advice you were ever given?
CLARK: “Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence” – Calvin Coolidge
GLITTER: Is there someone you’d like to work with that you haven’t worked with already?
CLARK: I’d love to go in the road with Kenny Chesney. I love the energy and atmosphere of his shows!
GLITTER: Any projects you can tell us about that you’re working on next?
CLARK: We are working on a full album to release this winter or spring. We have amazing material and want to take our time in the studio to really make sure we make this record to it’s full potential.
