Interview with Alex Angelo
Glitter recently sat down with singer, Alex Angelo, to talk about his musical influences, his new song, “Turn Me Up,” what he’s working on now, and what it’s like to be one of the youngest on-air personalities with his Radio Disney show, “Saturday Night Party with Alex Angelo.”

GLITTER: How would you describe your sound?
ALEX: My sound is a mixture of rhythmic, EDM and pop. As I mature and get older, my sound is changing with me. I like the idea of incorporating dance and movement in my music because my career started in dance.
GLITTER: Do you have any musical influences and play any instruments?
ALEX: My family is very musical. I have been surrounded by music my entire life. My voice is an instrument that I continue to develop and improve.
GLITTER: What can you tell us about your new song, “Turn Me Up?”
ALEX: “Turn Me Up” was created with a producer in LA named Nick Gross. It was my first time working with him and we had a great time creating new music together. I learned a lot during the process. He and I worked together to create the sound I was trying to execute. I am happy with the product and there’s more we have created since then.
GLITTER: What is it like to be one of the youngest on-air personalities hosting “Radio Disney’s Saturday Night Party with Alex Angelo?”
ALEX: I like having a platform to share my talent with people. I like hearing how listeners enjoy the mixes. A lot of my fans call in or tweet me during the show. It’s a good way to interact with my fans, who are called “fangelos!”
GLITTER: Are you working on a new EP or debut album?
ALEX: I like to consistently put out fresh singles and new content for my audience. I am always in the studio creating new music which I love doing.
GLITTER: Where do you find your inspiration?
ALEX: I find my inspiration from many different artists. I listen and watch for different things that inspire me and I can use in my music. It could be a set from am major festival or a dance routine from a music video.
GLITTER: Where are a few places that people might have heard your music at?
ALEX: Well, they can find it on iTunes or Spotify. You can hear it being played on Radio Disney. You can also listen on youtube.com/gutikids. You can also hear it if you request it at your local radio station!
GLITTER: When did you first start performing professionally?
ALEX: I was ten-years-old when I started djing for the Cleveland Cavaliers. I would dj while the players were warming up and throughout the game. I was also a part of their dance team so I would run down from the dj booth and dance on the court with my team. It was a lot of fun! I knew that arena like the back of my hand!
GLITTER: Is there something about you fans would be surprised to know?
ALEX: They might be surprised to hear that I am kind of a nerd! I love electronics and spend a lot of time doing music production.
GLITTER: Is there someone you’d like to work with that you haven’t worked with already?
ALEX: There are a lot of people that I would love to work with including Pharrell, Diplo, Zedd.Their music inspires me and I think they are musical genius’s.
GLITTER: Any projects you can tell us about that you’re working on next?
ALEX: There are more singles that will be released and most currently, I am flying to LA at the end of June to shoot the “Turn Me Up” video!
