Interview with L.J. Benet
L.J. Benet is best known as Karl Fink on the hit Disney channel series, Dog with a Blog, which is currently airing its third season and will run through the summer. He’s also releasing a song this summer, “Happy Again”. Read on to find out more about where you can find L.J. next!

GLITTER: What can you tell us about your role on the Disney channel series, Dog with a Blog?
LJ: Well besides being a boy genius with a very unique sense of style, deep down he’s just the regular boy next door. That is, if wearing mesh-suits to extravagant hotels, and commanding a fleet of drones from your shed is your “average boy next door.”
GLITTER: Who do you play?
LJ: The boy genius, Karl Fink!
GLITTER: What’s it like working alongside G. Hannelius?
LJ: She’s such a wonderful person inside and out, I couldn’t ask for a better actress to play off of.
GLITTER: What was it like to be nominated for a 2014 Young Artist Award?
LJ: It was such an honor to be nominated; the Young Artist Awards is such a great organization.
GLITTER: What has been your favorite episode to date and why?
LJ: My favorite episode definitely has to be when Stan gets married. Some great memories were made in that meat truck. Lol!
GLITTER: What advice do you have for teens who have been bullied? How can they overcome it?
LJ: Find friends who love you for you. The more support and love you receive from those around you the more you start feeling good about yourself. It’s what works for me!
GLITTER: What do you like to do on your free time?
LJ: I love to play guitar, sing, write, watch all my Boston sports teams play on television, and the occasional nap doesn’t hurt either. Lol.
GLITTER: Have you also been in theater as well? If so, what shows?
LJ: That’s right! I did a lot of theater when I was younger. I’ve been in shows like Suessical: The Musical, Big: The Musical, The Who’s Tommy, Waiting for Godot, To Kill a Mockingbird, and I was also part of the Utah Shakespeare festival!
GLITTER: What can you tell us about your upcoming single, “Happy Again,” releasing this summer?
LJ: I don’t think there’s a word to describe how important this song is to me. I wrote it my sophomore year of high school and just the fact that it’s being released along with a music video, feels like a dream come true.
GLITTER: Is there something about you fans would be surprised to know?
LJ: I was born and raised in Los Angeles, but for some reason my heart lives in Boston. I’m pretty sure it’s because my dad, who’s from Boston, brainwashed me with all that great stuff the city has to offer!
GLITTER: What’s your definition of self-love?
LJ: Accepting your flaws and loving every inch of yourself inside and out. Your flaws make you who you are and in turn, you realize what you want for yourself and what will make you happy in the long run!
GLITTER: What would be a dream role for you?
LJ: Playing Julius Caesar or any historical figure during the Roman Era!!
GLITTER: Is there someone you’d like to work with that you haven’t worked with already?
LJ: I’d love to work with Leonardo DiCaprio one day; I think he’s an amazing actor.
GLITTER: Any projects you can tell us about that you’re working on next?
LJ: I’m actually working with the Blank Theater Company in their Annual Young Playwrights Festival at the Stella Adler Theater in Hollywood!
