GLITTER: Tell us about your role in Nickelodeon’s Instant Mom. Who do you play?

HALEY: I play Molly, the best friend of Gabby. She is always such a goofball and I love getting the opportunity to play such a fun role.

GLITTER: Did you ever watch Sister, Sister?

HALEY: I definitely remember watching a few episodes with my older sisters, but I’m pretty sure I was too young to really get in to the show. From what I remember, though, it was absolutely hilarious. When my sister Kathleen visited the set, she was so excited to meet Tia because she loved Sister Sister!

GLITTER: You’re also a soap opera actress on General Hospital. Do you find acting on daytime television easier or harder than a prime-time show?

HALEY: They’re both extremely different, but I do feel like General Hospital is slightly easier for me because I’ve been on the show for six years now and I’m so familiar with the character and the process.

GLITTER: How did you react when you found out you were nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award in the category of Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series for your work on General Hospital?

HALEY: My parents and I knew the nominations were being announced at 11am so I went to get my nails done to distract myself. About twenty minutes to 11:00, my phone died! I was really hoping my nails would be finished in time for me to hear the announcement but, of course, it ended up taking way longer than expected. It wasn’t until almost noon that I was able to run back to my car to plug my phone in. As soon as it turned back on, I got dozens of texts from people congratulating me on my nomination so I sat in my car and cried for a solid ten minutes. Even though I didn’t win, it was one of the most incredible experiences of my life!

GLITTER: What do you love to do in your spare time?

HALEY: I love to do anything with my friends whenever I can. I usually can’t make plans with any of them because of my work schedule, so it’s great when I actually get the opportunity to spend time with them.

GLITTER: Do you have any favorite hobbies?

HALEY: I write a lot. I write what I’m feeling and it helps me deal with my emotions. I also spend a lot of time at the gym because exercising has become a great way for me to release tension.

GLITTER: What is something fans may not know about you?

HALEY: I used to be a pescatarian, but I recently made the switch to veganism. I had wanted to try it for a while, but my best friend and I decided to do it together in January. I guess it was kind of my resolution.

GLITTER: How do you balance school and acting?

HALEY: I do school online so I bring my computer to set with me and work whenever I have the opportunity. It gets pretty stressful, but it’s definitely a necessity.

GLITTER: Best advice you were ever given?

HALEY: “Breathe.” Honestly breathing is something I struggle with. When I get too worked up, I tend to forget to breathe so people always have to remind me. It helps with everything, really. It calms your nerves, it helps you think straight, and it gives you energy.

GLITTER: What’s your definition of self-love?

HALEY: Self-love is taking care of yourself mentally and physically. Being happy with your decisions and being strong in your convictions. When you love yourself, it enables you to love others and help them feel good about themselves too.

GLITTER: What would be a dream role for you?

HALEY: I would love to play an insane person, maybe like Angelina Jolie’s character in Girl, Interrupted or Natalie Portman’s character in Black Swan.  Something that would stretch my abilities as an actress and take me to places I haven’t gone yet emotionally in my career. That would be really amazing!

GLITTER: Is there someone you’d like to work with that you haven’t worked with already?

HALEY: I would love to work with Neil Patrick Harris! He is one of my favorite people in the world, and it would be an unbelievable experience to see his process in person and to learn from him.

GLITTER: Any projects you can tell us about that you’re working on next?

HALEY: Not right now. Between General Hospital and Instant Mom I keep pretty busy. When summer comes around I hope to get involved in some other projects, like a movie.

GLITTER: How can fans follow you?
