Interview with Jonny Gray
Jonny Gray is best known for his role as Max, a world-class snowboarder, who is training for the World Cup on Nickelodeon’s Max & Shred. Glitter recently sat down with Johnny to talk about this season of Max & Shred, how close everyone is now, how he balances his personal and professional life, and how fans can follow him. Read on to find out more about this talented actor!
GLITTER: How is it acting on Max & Shred?
JONNY: Acting on Max & Shred is a lot of fun. The cast is very close and we have a lot of laughs on and off set. The crew and the staff are so supportive and nice. It’s like a big family.
GLITTER: Who do you play?
JOHNNY: I play Max Asher, who is a world class snowboarder that is training for the World Cup. He’s fun loving and adventuresome and sometimes a little thick.
GLITTER: What can you tell us about this season of Max & Shred without giving away too much information?
JONNY: In the upcoming season there will be a lot of laughs while Alvin and Max figure out their friendship and living arrangement. There will be bad guys, love triangles, explosions and even the occasional animal on set.
GLITTER: How has the cast changed from episode one to now? Is everyone closer?
JONNY: Over the filming season one the cast went from being virtual strangers to being great friends. Jake and I have spent lots of time together outside of set and since filming ended.
GLITTER: How do you balance your personal life with your acting life?
JONNY: Balancing personal life with my acting life is sometimes difficult because I have to move away from home. My family spends as much time as possible with me on set though. On weekends, I go back home and spend time with my family and friends so that helps a lot.
GLITTER: How important is it to get involved in charities and raising awareness for special causes?
JONNY: I think that it is important to get involved in charities and events that raise awareness because the only way to make a difference in the things that matter is by taking a stand. The only way to incite change is by working at it. Nothing happens if we sit back and wait for someone else to do the work.
GLITTER: What is your definition of self-love?
JONNY: My definition of self-love is learning to accept oneself with all our flaws and imperfections.
