Interview with Jake Goodman
Jake Goodman is best known for his role as Alvin “Shred” Ackerman on Nickelodeon’s Max & Shred. Did you know that Jake also has done voice-over work in the past or that he likes to snowboard, which is unlike his character? Read on to find out more about this talented actor!

GLITTER: How is it acting on Max & Shred?
JAKE: It’s a lot of fun. Great people, fun role, and I like set environments in general.
GLITTER: Who do you play?
JAKE: I play Alvin “Shred” Ackerman. He’s a super science geek who loves school and learning. He doesn’t have many friends because he only focuses on his lab experiments. Very fun to play.
GLITTER: You’ve also done voice-over work as well. What do you like more: voice-over acting or live-action and why?
JAKE: I like live-action better because you get to have better relationships with the cast and crew, you get to see all of the cool equipment like the cameras, sound equipment and other stuff that isn’t normally in a sound studio, and you get to move around and play off other actors.
GLITTER: What do you like to do on your free time?
JAKE: I would usually learn a song on guitar, bass, drums or sometimes another, like banjo, piano, or ukulele.
GLITTER: How many instruments can you play?
JAKE: I can play the guitar, bass, drums, banjo, tuba, ukulele, piano, and there are some others that I can pick up and play, but that I haven’t spent time learning like the mandolin, and trumpet.

GLITTER: Who would you love to have guest star on Max & Shred?
JAKE: I don’t know, the cast has joked about having a Drake and Josh crossover because our shows are alike.
GLITTER: Is there something about you fans would be surprised to know?
JAKE: I love snowboarding and I do it a lot, which is unlike my character.
GLITTER: What charities do you support?
JAKE: I’m particularly involved in Kids Help Phone.
GLITTER: What would be a dream role for you?
JAKE: I don’t have a dream role.
GLITTER: Is there someone you’d like to work with that you haven’t worked with already?
JAKE: I’m going to say Dave Grohl since he’s technically now a director.
GLITTER: What projects are you working on next?
JAKE: Max & Shred, season 2.
GLITTER: What is your definition of self-love?
JAKE: I think of self-love more as self-respect. Self-respect means to respect that you’re a person who needs to be treated with respect; just like you can’t bully other people and resent other people, you can’t do those things to yourself.
