Karan Brar is best known as Ravi on the hit Disney channel series, Jessie. Karan talks about his favorite episode from all four seasons, how did you put your personal stamp on Ravi, being a celebrity ambassador for The Thirst Project, and what it was like to be nominated for his first NAACP Image Award.

GLITTER:You recently wrapped up Season 4 of Jessie, which just premiered on Disney last week. Can you tell us what has been your favorite episode from the season without giving away any spoilers?

KARAN: My favorite episode so far has been our season 4 premiere, “But Africa is so…Fari”! We put a lot of effort into it and it came out amazing!

GLITTER: How did you put your personal stamp on your role as Ravi? Did you have to perfect an accent?

KARAN: I think my personal stamp on Ravi was his accent since originally the character I auditioned for didn’t have an accent. I just asked if I could add it in for fun! And perfecting the accent took some time; I worked with an acting coach over the weekends to help me with my accent for Ravi.

GLITTER: What was it like being nominated your first NAACP Image Award for “Outstanding Performance in a Youth/ Children’s Program” for your work on the show?

KARAN: It was truly amazing to be nominated for an NAACP Image Award! When I first got the news I was jumping off the wall because I was so excited!

GLITTER: Out of all four seasons, what’s been your favorite episode of Jessie to film?

KARAN: My favorite episode of Jessie to film was probably our first episode ever shot which was called “Used Karma”. It was so much fun to film and we all have some great memories from that first week.

GLITTER: If you could have dinner with anyone alive or dead, who would you have dinner with and why? What would you ask them?

KARAN: It would probably have to be Leonardo Di Vinci because his contribution to the arts was so amazing. I would probably ask him about how he got inspired to be so involved in the arts.

GLITTER: Is searching for fries really a hobby?

KARAN: Yes, it is. Yes indeed.

GLITTER: What is your favorite part about being an actor?

KARAN: Being able to be a different person and feel what it’s like to be in someone else’s shoes.

GLITTER: Is it easy or hard for you to memorize a script?

KARAN: It’s not too hard for me to memorize scripts; at first it took me a while but now I have the hang of it. Haha!

GLITTER: What is it like being a celebrity ambassador for The Thirst Project?

KARAN: I think it’s so cool that I’m able to be a celebrity ambassador for the thirst project and help them end the global water crisis!

GLITTER: What can you tell us about your PSA for The Thirst Project?

KARAN: The PSA I did with the amazing Taylor Spreitler for The Thirst Project was fun way for us to help spread the news about the organization and to help get more people involved through a campaign they did called “Chalk About It.” I did another one as well a little over a year ago which you can check out below.

GLITTER: Are you working on new projects you can tell us about?

KARAN: I’ve got a few things in the works which I’m really excited to share soon!

GLITTER: What are your goals for 2015?

KARAN: My biggest goal for 2015 is to exercise more and eat healthier!
