MTV MOVIE AWARDS: Shailene Woodley to Receive Trailblazer Award
Fresh off the news that “The Divergent Series: Insurgent” was number one at the box office this weekend, MTV has announced that Shailene Woodley will receive the “MTV Trailblazer” award from Miles Teller during the show.
MTV is also announcing that Jessie J will host the 2015 MTV Movie Awards Live Pre-Show along with MTV’s Josh Horowitz on Sunday, April 12 at 7:30 PM ET. She will give viewers a first-hand look at all of the Hollywood royalty walking the red carpet. In addition, Cara Delevingne, Nat Wolff and John Green will introduce an exclusive sneak from the upcoming film PAPER TOWNS during the Pre-Show. Adding to the excitement, the first award of the night, “Best Hero,” will be revealedlive during the Pre-Show. This socially-voted category puts fans in charge of choosing the winner. “Best Hero” nominees will be revealed and voting will begin on Thursday, April 2. In the week leading up to the main show, MTV will air MTV Movie Awards Takeover Week that will include a world premiere, first look at the hotly anticipated blockbuster, Jurassic World. Beginning Monday, April 6 through Friday, April 10, MTV will feature full-day, on-air takeovers by some of Hollywood’s biggest stars. Over the course of the week, the casts of Spy (Melissa McCarthy, Jason Statham and Paul Feig), Trainwreck (Bill Hader and Judd Apatow), Jurassic World (Chris Pratt), San Andreas (Dwayne Johnson) and Ted 2 (Mark Wahlberg) will sit down with MTV’s Josh Horowitz to discuss must-see moments from their upcoming films, past Movie Awards moments and predications for this year’s show. Each night will culminate with an exclusive sneak peek at an upcoming summer blockbuster film at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT.
