Interview with Ashlee Keating
Ashlee Keating got her start at the age of six playing in the Sound of Music on Broadway. Glitter Magazine recently sat down with Ashlee to talk about her new song, “Red Eye, who she recorded with Sean Douglas, Michael Keaton’s son, who has also produced and penned the hits, “Heart Attack” by Demi Lovato and “Talk Dirty” and “Wiggle” by Jason Derulo. She also talks about the acts she’s opened up for in the past, her secret crush and her upcoming film, The Mint.

GLITTER: Tell us about your song, “Red Eye.” How did that come about?
ASHLEE: I met with my producer, Sean Douglas, and we discussed what I was looking to create and then we got in the studio and made it happen!
GLITTER:What was it like to work with Michael Keaton’s son, Sean Douglas?
ASHLEE: It was incredible. Sean is amazingly talented. Our vibe together was great!!
GLITTER: What acts have you opened up for in the past?
ASHLEE: I’ve opened up for numerous people including Demi Lovato, Keke Palmer, and Raven Symone. I’m really looking forward to more opportunities coming in 2015!!
GLITTER: Secret crush?
ASHLEE: Nick Jonas.
GLITTER: What do you call your fans and why did you give them that name?
ASHLEE: My fans are called my #Keators. It was started on my twitter with that hashtag.
GLITTER: Favorite inspirational saying?
ASHLEE: “Either I will find a way, or I will make one.” ~ Philip Sidney
GLITTER: You just finished filming, The Mint. What can you tell us about the movie and who do you play?
ASHLEE: I played the leading role, Samantha Cole, a small town girl from Tennessee who has big aspirations to be a successful singer, has a big heart, and is very inspirational. The movie is about a talented music producer/executive, who must set his priorities straight and regain his love for music if he ever wants to be truly successful in the music industry.
GLITTER: What is your favorite part about the spring season?
ASHLEE: It’s a beautiful time of the year. I love the weather and all of the chirping birds and flowers blooming.
GLITTER: What do you have planned for the upcoming year?
ASHLEE: Releasing more music, performing, writing, and recording in the studio, and a few videos. The movie, The Mint, is also set to release this year, which I’m excited about!
