Dana-Maxx Pomerantz began her career studying fashion design at The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. Upon graduating from FIT with a BFA in fashion design, Dana-Maxx had the opportunity to work in design for two of the industry’s most influential designers, Betsey Johnson and Marc Jacobs. The invaluable experience gained from working within these two design houses inspired Dana-Maxx to fulfill her lifelong dream and launch her eponymous line, DANA-MAXX.
When Dana-Maxx is designing, she is inspired by shape, architecture, and color. Every design focuses on flattering a real woman’s body. Dana-Maxx’s technical knowledge of a garment’s proper fit and design, combined with her innate creative abilities, results in an effortless and wearable line that reflect the kind of woman she is herself; strong, sexy, fun, and fearless.
Dana-Maxx believes in the importance of community involvement, inspiring others and giving back. When she is not designing, she is an ambassador for GLAMOUR Magazine and is on the committee for the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation and the National Hemophilia Foundation. As a certified mentor for the Adopt-a-Student Program at the High School of Fashion Industries, a critic at The Fashion Institute of Technology for the AAS Fashion Design Program, as well as being on the faculty for Fashion Camp NYC, she continues to provide guidance in helping other young, aspiring fashion designers realize their dreams.
